Re: 1999 javelin (baucom84)
2002 was the last year for the javelin. Yours should be no wood pretty sure.
Re: 1999 javelin (baucom84)
i thought 98 was the last year of wood.. I had a 99 renegade and it had wood
Re: 1999 javelin (JavRenegade20)
what all wood did your 99 renegade have? floor transom stringers? thx so much for the replys im goin to look at the boat friday.
Re: 1999 javelin (baucom84)
The only wood I came across was in my deck... I was installing a recessed trolling motor tray... THe deck had wood between the fiberglass...
Re: 1999 javelin (JavRenegade20)
how has the boat held up? have you been happy with the quality of the boat?
Re: 1999 javelin (baucom84)
I sold the boat, but it was great. no problems...
Re: 1999 javelin (baucom84)
If the boat is all composite, it will have "Composite Construction" stickers on the transom, otherwise there is still marine plywood sandwiched in glass. As stated, 2002 was the last year model Javelin stood on it's own. 2003 saw limited "Javelin" models marketed by Stratos, and that was the end of the Javelin line.
If the rig is in good shape and has been taken care of, no worries. I bought a '95 367A in 1998, which is essentially the same boat. I ran it until I upgraded in '02, and I loved that little boat. It was solid and well built. I never had a problem with it, and it saw a lot of time in the water. It was in just as good shape, if not better when I traded it.
Best of luck.
