plugging up seat holes on 201 evo
201 evo has two pedestal seat holes on front deck.both are open holes which rain water goes into. the front hole drains into the hull behind the rod tube holder. no problem. the back hole drains into tackle storage box. big problem. stratos sent two black rubber caps with hoses to put onto the bottom of the pedistal bases. excellent theory. in reallity i cant get to the one behind the rod tubes. the one in front of the rod tube is pressed so close to the rod tube wall that there is no way to get the cover on. i tried to remove the tube wall but with all the foam etc it wont budge.
so i tried to just seal the pedestal hole with crack sealer. it only lasted a few months before it leaked again. dont want to permantly seal the hole in case i want to install the seat one day. what would you use to waterproof this hole.?

Try using Dap latex spray-in foam, spray a little in the post hole let it expand, razor cut it below deck height and top with a good quality silicone. that should last a pretty long time. Is it a 3/4 inch hole or 1 7/8 hole?

Can you use a flat pry bar to bend the tube rack back enough to get the drain tube up on at all?...You can buy black plastic cover caps that fit the top of the holes...They will not make it totally waterproof, but they do a very good job...Most good marinas should have them, but if not, I know that they can be ordered thru a Ranger dealer.

Dood, just go to billet boat products website and order the seat hole caps in billet. The look killer too. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
