Help - Stratos rear deck seat mount removal
Hi Guys,
I have been searching through BBC forums trying to find an answer but haven't been able to and am hoping someone here may be able to help out.
A bit of background. The boat is an '08 Stratos 200XL. The issue is that the boat see a lot of salt water and the rear deck seat mount in the bilge area is begining to rust as it is only galvanised steel. I am trying to remove the mount so that I can fabricate one in stainless steel. My issue is I am not sure how it is secured to the underside of the deck. I have undone the two lock nuts at towards the base which is mounted to the bilge/battery area as well as the four screws which bolt the plate to the bilge/battery area. plate then moves freely on the thread, but I am not sure how the main post is secured to the underside of the deck. I can see 4 bolts/studs protruding through on the underside of the deck but cannot feel the heads of the bolts on the top side through the carpet. Does the carpet need to be pulled up to remove this section or does that section of deck need to be removed. Attached is a photo, hopefully someone may be able to help me out.

Re: Help - Stratos rear deck seat mount removal (ICS)
If it is like mine, it has 6-#3 phillips head screws down through the plate with nuts and washers on the underside. I slit the carpet above mine, carefully pulled it back to gain access to the screws. When I was finished, I layed the carpet back down and installed a NEW base ON TOP of the carpet, and replaced the screws.
I changed from the regular seat base up front, to the 3/4" threaded pin type for a power pole.

Thanks Ohirolina. The rear one of these has only 4 screws coming through the deck. I'd prefer not to be cutting my carpet up just yet though.
Anyone else removed one of these before, or know how they are assembled???
