lower unit paint did not stay on
I just got a really nice 225HO carb, and it has the pointed nose ( lightling) gear case, the problem is the silver paint has peeled off and the unit is almost all white. any remedy for this or if touched up will it just peel off again? thanks

About the only way I have ever been able to make it stay on is go all the way to bare metal, then i use prepsole on it, then a metal etching primer, then go back with the paint in multiple layers.... usually about a 3 day process for me........

When you say "the silver paint peeled off", did the silver paint peel to a sub coat or did the silver paint and a sub-coat peel to bare metal?
. . . and when I say sub-coat, I am talking about a primer coat.
I would like to know where the adhesion problem is before making any suggestions.
