Hole Shot and Correct Prop
I have a buddy that owns a '95 Stratos 275 Pro XL with a 150 Johnson Fast Strike. I have a '99 Skeeter SX186 with a Yamaha VMax 150. On hole shot, I leave him sitting. If we get him going and run side by side, we both run about 62-64MPH. His boat seems to sit really low in the back, I've seen other posts where people talked about the older Stratos boats having a hole shot issue due to the batteries and other items. Is that most likely his issue as well on hole shot? Solutions?
His prop is a SS 4 Blade, 13" 27 Pitch. Is this the correct prop for this boat?
Re: Hole Shot and Correct Prop (kchannels)
I have the same boat, but with the 150 Intruder. I am running a 23 renegade and the hole shot has never been a problem.
Re: Hole Shot and Correct Prop (Bamafan)
I talked to a Stratos dealer this morning and he said the problem was most likely the prop, the 27 pitch was way too much and should be somewhere between 22 and 24, your 23 would make sense then.
Re: Hole Shot and Correct Prop (kchannels)
I had that same setup before also (my first boat). I ran a 24 Raker and loved it. http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif
Re: Hole Shot and Correct Prop (1niceStratos)
What speed are you guys getting with those 23 and 24 pitches?
Re: Hole Shot and Correct Prop (kchannels)
Also, what size prop should it have? 13", 14" ???
Re: Hole Shot and Correct Prop (kchannels)
The 24 Raker is a 14" prop. That's a low 60's combo.
