1995 389 new to me

Brought it home last night, coulple question's the"maxuim capasity plate" is realy faded can't read some of it is there anything I can do about it can you find replacments or just redo the information on the exsisting one. Second there is a knob just behind the drivers seat what is it . Thanks

My 389 SDC Javelin does not have the knob that you are asking about.

The name plate reads;

4 PERSONS OR 595 LBS
1175 LBS, PERSONS, MOTOR, GEAR
175 HP MOTOR

That is what I thought the letters are worn off.
