the last 2 setups (2.5" & 2.25") I added a 30lb tool box to offset the loss of fuel.
all rpms are approx. best reading guess from dial guage.
HOLE SHOT WAS ACCEPTABLE W/TEMPEST AT ALL SETTINGS.
HOLE SHOT IS PRETTY MUCH UNDESIRABLE WITH RAKER ANY SETTING
Opinions? Advice? recommendations?

I would think that at 2 1/4 under pad with the 28 raker you should be turnin more rpms than that even with that load.and runnin 75 anyway!i would say 5700-5800 rpms.my 21x same motor 28 raker will turn 5700-5750 with approx.same load at 75 ish.you should see more being your boat is a little lighter and known to be pretty fast.it doesnt sound like your runnin as high as you think.im runnin mine at 2 1/2 under i know there diff. hulls but you should be gettin better than that i would think.what are your numbers by yourself.i am all over 5800 by myself.holeshot is not great with 28 but very acceptable.even in heat you should be doin better.someone with same boat chime in and give your thoughts.

Triton,
I leveled the hull & cavitation plate on slab with a 4' level, then took my measurments and marked the JP with marker. I would love to get 5700 out of this prop in this East Texas humidity just don't think it will happen. I'm busting 74 at about 5400 (see raker at 2.5 BP) another 300r's would get me close to 76 loaded. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/praying.gif I just don't think that will happen. From my experience these engines hate the humidity.
Think about sending it to Mark (prop man) for a good working over. can he improve on something don't want to spend $200 for a 1/2 mph & no hole shot.

The humidity does affect the motors, but not that much. I lost about 200 rpms and 1.5-2mph between winter and Florida summer...Ran upper 78's in the winter, running lower 77's in summer.

AB,
How many rpms are you turning right now?

5700-5800...When I am at the dealer the service manager always comes over and scolds me for turning it too high... http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif

Have you had the hot foot checked to see if it is getting full throttle?

1/2 tank of fuel in my 201 was really about 3/4 of a tank. I think your numbers are respectable with that type of load (I'd consider it a fairly heavy load). If you were running a lighter load and in cooler weather I'd say you would see an increase of 2-3 mph which is pretty much dead on.

niceStratos,
I to think it is a pretty heavy load, and 74+ @5400 didn't seem to bad.
I am wondering if Mark can work the Raker to boost the r's about 200 and help the hole shot. without losing and speed, & maybe just gain a little.
I may take all my crap out and see what it will do light with just me, but of course I am 2 people, 260lbs. and getting my junk out is an all day job.
Re: 200xl, 225 etec, 2 props, & 4 hrs of ... (rodbender1)
Thats about what the boat will run with that load in those conditions.
