2005 200 XL, 225 E-Tec set up
2005 Pro XL
225 E-tec
28" Raker (may even be a 27", can't remember)
8" Bobs hyd. jack plate
What's the best prop/pad height for this boat. I've only had the boat out a few times and hven't come up with anything solid as far as motor height. Just looking for some numbers from you experienced folks to start out with and I'll go from there. I almost wish I didnt have the hydraulic jack...I think I got the thing all out of wack now.

1st things 1st. Is it an H.O. or just a standard 225?
Let us know that and we'll get you hooked up. I had an '05 200 Pro w/ 225 H.O. E-TEC. It was an awesome running boat. I had a 28 Raker (old style) and a 29 ASX (like the new TXP's). It ran 76-77 with a two man tourney load and 79 with a light load and just me.
The 200 is a great boat and the E-TEC is a great motor. http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif

The motor is the HO. 28 pitch Raker II...I've had it up to 77 twice with a light load but it started getting a little squirley at that speed so I backed off...felt like there was still more speed to be had but I chickened out I guess. Thank for the help fellas.

How many RPMS are you able to turn that 28 Raker 2?

Can you get out of the hole with a load? I have a 2006 200 PXL with the 225 HO Etec and I am not sure if I can turn that 28.

No real problems so far with full livewells and 2 in the boat. A lot better than my old Pantera Classic w/200 EFI. Hydraulic jack comes in handy for better whole shots. I dicovered yesterday if you jack the motor up on takeoff the boat pops right up...you just have to remember to jack it down as you are rolling over onto plane...works great for "skinny" water. That was with a light load though...we'll see what happens with a tourney load. I was told by the dealer the 28 pitch is the reccomended prop for that set-up. I also herd rumor that was a recent change due to the enormous torque that the E-tec puts off causing lower units to fail. Could be all smoke being blown up my you know what, who knows. Maybe someone else can chime in on that one....
