help installing Lowrance 332...
Need some advice on installing my GPS/sounder. I have a '98 Javelin 379B. I am installing the Lowrance unit on the side of the boat at the console. I assume I drill screw holes the width of the screws so just the threads will pass. My problem that I think I will have is running the cables back to the battery and from the unit to the puck. Any tips on doing this??? There is no old unit where I can attach the new to the old and pull =( How did you guys do it???

I actually have used a few different things...Ive used an electrical snake..i think i paid 10 bucks for one at home depot...Lost that and had to run some wires for my 334C last week and i used 2 lenghts of steel brake line...wiggeled the line all the way to the front of the console..taped my wires to it and slowly pulled the wires into the rear hatch

DH, you shouldn't have to run your power leads back to the battery. Look under the console to see if your power/breaker block is mounted under there.

Its better to run them directly to the battery with a fuse! You will have less interference. At least that has been my experience.. If i can go direct to the battery thats what I do. Takes a little maneuvring but is worth it in the long run.
