Re: fuel line replacement (lkhartwl)
I Have a '93 285 and the tank switch is to the right of the drivers seat next to the two livewell drain shutoffs. It is about a 3 1/2" diameter round piece with a lever that you switch from port to starbord tanks. Be sure you have the fuel guage set to the same tank as the lever.
Re: fuel line replacement (2ndCajun)
the lever is there as it was replaced but the actual switching mech is not even close to it. we had to fish down by the storage box to find the nut that held it on. the question is where down there is it and is it accessable to be replaced or new lines run to it or would it be better just to run new lines to a new switch placed on the splash well ( the metal type) then run the line to the engine?
Re: fuel line replacement (lkhartwl)
If I understand you right, the actual switch that changes the tanks over is in the rear. You have to take the metal panels out of the rear that the T/M batteries sit on. When you take it out, you have access to all the pumps, plumbing and the switch for the tanks. Mine is a cable operated mechanical switch. It has the two fuel lines running into it and one out to the motor. Hope that helps.

Mine is located under the splash well in the rear on a 94 285 pro xl
