KW rating on the EPA sticker of my new 2007 225HO ETEC.
This morning when checking out my new ETEC at the dealer, I looked at the EPA sticker just out of curiosity. The KW rating on my engine is 186.4. Is this posted on everyone's 225ETEC? When calculating this out, I come out with a VERY VERY hot engine rated at 249.86595174327198HP!!!! That sounds super powerful.
The Standard 225 in the brochure states 168kw. The standard 250 states 187kw. Sounds like my 225HO is everything but a 250, doesn't it?
What do your guys engines have on the plate?
Thanks,
Dan

That's what all of the 225 H.O.'s have on them. It is the worst kept secret in boating that the 225 H.O. is a standard 250 E-TEC with a Lightning lower unit on it. The 250's have a Magnum lower which causes them to be about 3 mph slower than a 225 H.O. on the same boat.

No, not all of them have the 186.4 kw rating. I have seen two that are rated at 179.1 kw (240.2 hp). The last one i saw that had this rating was a Stratos 200 Pro XL. This was in Chattanooga Tn about 3 weeks ago...... Believe me, when i see one i look.
Mine on the plate is 186.4 kw....

Dan,
Your boat wouldn't be at G&F would it? I saw a Cat with a brand new HO on the back yesterday.
