Trying to understand the Bilge Pump on ZX190 and the Power Switch
I thought the Bilge Pump on my ZX190 Skeeter was an automatic Bilge Pump?
If it is automatic then why the rocker switch that says Bilge on the dash?
If it is not, how should I wire a new bilge pump with an automatic float exactly? I am guessing I would have to run the wires directly to one of the batteries so its automaticallt hot when the float kicks on.
Is this correct? http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/bows.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/bows.gif
Should I ever need to leave the power switch on when I am not in the boat?
Thnx

Mark ..... IDK about the '06, but I'd assume it's just like mine.
In mine it came with a manual bilge pump AND an automatic bilge pump. If memory serves me correctly, the automatic is located at the base of the livewells (under that large mounted aluminum flat plate). And if it continues to serve me correctly .... it takes a ton of water to trigger it.
IDK if it's powered through the master Power switch or if it has continual power ..... I've never checked it.

My 2005 is an auto and manual
To test your leave the plug in with the power switch off and run a hose into the bilge and turn it on
After a little water it should turn on and start to pump out without the power switch being on

My 2002 ZX225 has auto + manual

My 06 has two bilge pumps. Both have manual switch. I beleive the 1500gpm one also has the auto switch. Yes it does take a lot of water to trigger it. Like said earlier, leave the plug out. It will work. Also you can stick a garden hose in the bilge area and fill it up until it works.

I have an 07 and it has three. Two that are controlled on the panel and one auto that is always on.

My boat has 2 bilge pumps. A manual and an automatic. Both can be operated from a switch on the dash. The auto pump is also on a circuit that stays hot even with the power off.

My 06 has two but one of them has never worked http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/doh.gif it is hard to get to it so I haven't messed with it.
