Boat Buddy II bow lock and a Skeeter

I have been mulling over getting a Boat Buddy II for our trailer but have been wondering if any other Skeeter owners use one. Did you need to replace the bow eye? Seems like mine is quite long to begin with. Is it hard to replace the bow eye on the Skeeter with their long thin nose?

Our friends have the Boat Buddy on their trailer and a 17' Ranger and have used theirs since they bought the boat new in '96. They love it and have never had a problem with it like some have reported. I think it's all in knowing how to set it up and use it right.

So what do you other Skeeter owners think?
