Looking for Skeeter hand rail ends

I'm restoring my 1997 Skeeter bass boat. I'm looking to replace my pitted hand rail ends. They are made of some type of cast material which are then chrome plated. They are the 90 degree male type which take a 3/4 inch aluminum tube. Looking to purchase all (4) hand rail ends. Skeeter boat company sent me the name of the company the supplied the hand rails for there boat. I contacted the company but there informed me they never made or supplied them for Skeeter boats. I would appreciate any help finding these items. [img]

Have you checked with Cabela's ...... I noticed the other night while flipping through the Marine catalog that they sold hand rails and parts/pieces.

Hello I check all the boat sport shops and the interenet. I found several that looked the same but were not the exact one's I haveon my boat. They are either to small or to large. The problem i'm having is they never installed gasket under them at the factory. So when I removed them the rail ends damaged the fiberglass. I even looked into having them stripped and rechromed. I recieved 8 replys from chroming plating business and they all wanted $80.00 each to have them rechromed. Kind of hard to believe Skeeter doesn't remember who supplied there boat parts.

Perhaps the company changed hands at sometime and they werent aware?

After talking to seveal Skeeter owners I was imformed that It's hard to get Skeeter parts after 2 years. I talked to the owner of the company that supplied the hand rail parts for Skeeter boats. I was told that they only made and supplied Skeeter with the newer style hands rails which are made of one solid piece of bent steel with the oval shaped ends pieces welding on.

Could they be powder coated instead? Might be cheaper than re-chroming and I think it would look good too.

Yes I tought of that also. I have a large auto body shop. I just happen to have a larger sand blasting cabnet, power coating system and bake oven. I'm thinking of that for my last option. Thanks I apprecaite the info.

Can you post a pic of them. If they match the ones I just took off my brothers boat I may have some for you

I have a question. Are there any other Skeeter boat owners out there having the same problem with there hand rail end brackets pitting?

I have 97 ZX185 that the rail ends were pitted on when I bought it. I bought the same end pc as was on it from West Marine.

Hello I looked up West Marine's web site. They offer a couple different one's. Would you happen to know the part number of the one's you purchased from West marine? I'm thinking part number (F80-0130-1W) are the exact same one's that should replace the one's on my boat. If they are the exact same one's I found a dealer that will sell them to me for $12.99 each.

I can not find my order but am sure that is the one.
