My boat has an adjustable jackplate on it 6" right now and I'm looking to upgrade to a hydraulic but how do you know what size to run on your boat or whats the best size for your boat? 6", 8", 10", 12"??? I've got an '05 Skeeter TZX 200 with an OX66 200 yamaha?

I would think that boat has at least a 10". Heck even the zx190's have a 10". Im not an expert but I think I'd at least go with a 10".
Don't know for sure ....... but I'd bet $ that your boat's jackplate has been changed out at some point since it left the factory. Your TZX 200 should have came from the factory with a 12" plate just like my TZX 190. I'm not sure about years and models ........ but I'm thinking all TZX/ZX's 190 and bigger came from the factory with 12" plates for the longest time.
As far as 'what's right' ...... it would be interesting to know how your numbers compared to others running the same boat but with the factory 12" plate.
Just looked it up ........ according to Doug's brochures that are scanned and posted above in the 'Reference Material' thread ...... the '05 TZX 200 came with a 12" plate.

I thought it was a 12 but wasn't 100% sure.
you need a 12. Skeeters like a lot of setback.
My 04 TZX200 has a 12 inch Slidemaster, I have to assume it is factory.
