Re: tzx 200 porpoising (SKEETER19741)
Adjust your jackplate to where its approximately a dollar bill (width, top to bottom) from inside/outside plate, then make sure to adjust the trim in small increments while running..the 200 is "touchy". Hope this helps.
Re: tzx 200 porpoising (Jigsisme)
a dollar bill width?
Thats a touch over 2 1/2" between the plate heights?
Sounds high to me, but then again I haven't tried adjusting mine that high
Re: tzx 200 porpoising (CStewart)
Trust me that is not high. You can run the T1 or the TXP above the pad and not have PSI issues...... http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif
Re: tzx 200 porpoising (tzx200)
What RPMS are you running at that height? 25P T-1? Speed? Load?
With my current 25P t-1 I think I would be way too high on the RPM to run that High
Re: tzx 200 porpoising (CStewart)
running about 5400 rpms all i can get and load is just me and gear half tank gas, i dont know if i shoud raise my jackplate ill give it a try, i always thought that u had to lower your motor for it not to chine walk or porpoise but i may be wrong anything will help lol. Had a powertech 25 p on it before and did the same thing so i know its not the prop. the 26 txp is a little faster i thnk.

Re: tzx 200 porpoising (SKEETER19741)
Most all the ZX200's are running 25" props. You might have too much.
I would post it over in the Prop forum and see what Mark and those guys say. I'm running my JP at the 7th dot which is about 2 1/2" below the pad
Re: tzx 200 porpoising (Texas Larry)
I have an 06 and had the same problem, i ran my jack plate up to 2 3/8" on the spacing on the jack plate and I have no trouble at all, running around 5800 RPM and fine on the water pressure. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/USA1.gif
Re: tzx 200 porpoising (JRO206)
thanks for the advise, i raised motor to 2 3/8 and rides very good no more porposing, but im still running 25 to 27 psi water pressure. should i raise it more or leave it alone. thanks
Re: tzx 200 porpoising (SKEETER19741)
if you have a TXP it can surface without problems unlike a T1 and i run them all the way up as far as the Plate can go...No PSI issues. The TXP likes to run high. I am 2 1/2" up with a T1 25 turning 5800 fully loaded 2 people, 40 gallons of gas and livewells at 67...Unloaded best is 72.3
Re: tzx 200 porpoising (tzx200)
If you are over 5,700rpms and have 15psi...stop moving the jp...not before.
