ride of the zx225 or zx250 and speed
I currently have a 09 zx190 my first bass boat, but the rough water ride is terrible, my buddies all have basscats, and the ride is awsome. just wondering if the bigger zx models ride that much better, or do i have to buy a i-class or fx to get a good ride.....any imput would be great..thank

My ZX250 rides great, I cant see it getting much better than that.
Re: ride of the zx225 or zx250 and speed (Neilslure)
Love the rough water ride of my ZX225, however I think driver input means more than boat design to a certain degree.
Re: ride of the zx225 or zx250 and speed (Neilslure)
what kind of top end speed are you seeing with the zx250, and fuel burn of the 250...thanks
Re: ride of the zx225 or zx250 and speed (brandonk225)
Keep in mind I weigh as much as 2 little people and carry 4 batteries. Best I have seen is 74.5 with a fairly light load. Full tourny load with a 25 T-1 I am running around 70.
At WOT it burns about 22 GPH, 5000: 16-18 GPH, 4000: 11-13 GPH.
Re: ride of the zx225 or zx250 and speed (brandonk225)
I have a ZX210 and wont complain about the rough water ride. I would give the Cat the edge as far as being better but I will say that my Skeeter is as stable of a fishing platform as it gets. I think Skeeter has one of the better rides, but it is not the best. You trade off a little speed and ride for stability. Like Neil I run alot of weight in my boat and keep wayyyyyyyyy to much tackle in it and the boat runs a concistant 72-74 mph.
Both boats are great and they both have an edge in certain spots.

Boat design AND driver input play an important role. In my view both Skeeter and Basscat have great rides BUT if the idiot behind the wheel thinks they can run full pin in rough water then you're going to get banged up in both boats. Of course the larger the boat the better the ride should be given that you'll ride across the waves better then up and down them. Just remember eventually even a 21ft boat will come across waves which are too big... anyone on lake Erie knows what i mean http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif
My ZX225 is out of action right now http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/crying.gif but yesterday i was out in a friends Basscat... it was a bit choppy and it does ride very well. However, i'm not a huge fan of the bass cat "look" so i'll be with Skeeter fan for a long time.
Oh and i had the hot rod yesterday too http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/roll.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/roll.gif

I'm gonna probably rile some folks up here but I think when you get to 20' plus size boats they all ride good and driver input makes or breaks the rough water ride. Case in point I rode in a 2009 bassCat Puma a couple of weeks ago and without question it was one of the Top 3 roughest boat rides IU can recall. I literally was holding on for dear life. That boat simply beat the hell out of me and I was sore for 2-3 days. Both forearms were bruisded from holding on so tight to the handles and banging against the boat. It was awful. That being said i think the majority of that was due to the driver. I did not think he knew how to run it at the speeds he was trying to in that rough of water. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif

Musta been the driver. I rode in and drove a Puma on a fairly rough day and thought it did very well. I consider myself and the other guy that was with me pretty good drivers That was a demo boat, neither of us had driven one prior to that.
Re: ride of the zx225 or zx250 and speed (Neilslure)
Keep in mind that I am very new to the Skeeter family, but my new ZX225 is like a cadillac compared to the Blazers and bullets that I am used to. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif
Re: ride of the zx225 or zx250 and speed (Prowler59)
anybody rode in the new fx, how does it compare to the zx225?
Re: ride of the zx225 or zx250 and speed (brandonk225)
I just got a FX21 a couple weeks ago and it rides noticeably smoother than the ZX225. The rough water ride is incredibile.
