Re: Trolling motor question (DocG)
I have a 82lb Tour Series Motorguide on my ZX225 and have yet to be left stranded with no power...however I would not drop in size just to get rid of 1 battery. You probably will regret doing it if you've been used to using the 36v.
If you fish mainly lakes and such, prolly be fine. If you fish current, I would keep the 36v.
Re: Trolling motor question (wildkat7)
I have a 80 lb thrust minn cotta and have no issues with it even on windy days
Re: Trolling motor question (Rodney Bledsoe)
My boat was shipped with a 80 by mistake. Since my dealer drug their feet on getting my 101, I used that 80 for 2 or 3 months. It did just fine. I like the extra power of the 101 and knowing it will run strong all day. Like someone else said, you may kick yourself after being used to the 36V.
Re: Trolling motor question (Neilslure)
There is a bit of weight difference from the ZX series to the i series with the i series being heavier.
