Re: a weird request.... (jnbdavies)
it will be fine. the boat is resting on the bunks anyways. just unhook bow eye from the boat and take the tongue off.
Re: a weird request.... (jnbdavies)
Mines a '05 ..... but look at the 4th post down in this thread http://www.bbcboards.net...rides ..... does your trailer look like mine?
If so, then yes ....... take tension off the winch, pull pin and swing tongue out of way.
The pin can be a little tricky. I've found it best to pull up ever so slightly on my trailer tongue to put the pin in or pull it out. It's a tight fit and it wants to bind a little.
Like Chris said, your boats resting on the trailer bunks, it's not going anywhere ...... heck, my bow even bounces a little while on the trailer. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/eek.gif

nope nothing like yours.. wish i had a swing tongue tho.. its detachable hitch, winch, bow stop post.. pretty much everything on the front of the trailer..ill post a pic tonight when i get home from work..now im curious to who even has a trailer like mine...
thanks..
Re: a weird request.... (jnbdavies)
Mine is a '98 and the same as yours. Not a problem, as earlier posted the boat is resting on the bunks so it's a non issue. It's just the way it is designed. Take the tension off the winch, pull the lock/pin and slide the tongue off.
I however have a different problem than most in that my spare tire was mounted on a bracket on the side of the frame and when I get to a ramp with a sharp enough brake to it I scrape the spare on the ground. I have only seen one other this way, most of them are mounted in between the frame rails under the bow of the boat. That's my next project is welding up a new mount.
Re: a weird request.... (jnbdavies)
When you put it back together and go to put the pin back in. Make extra sure that the trailer wires are not in the way of the pin. Voice of experience speaking here. I pushed the pin in one day and cut one of my wires. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/doh.gif Needless to say I spent a few minutes having to solder and splice new wire. Not fun.
