Steering Failure , Teleflex Non Feedback Cable on SX 170

Hi Guys.
I know I may be the only guy on the list that owns a SX 170 , but my steering failed on me and has also gone on two of my mates SX 170s aswell , all in less than two years , mine in 15 months.
I have converted my mates to hydraulic steering and will do the same to mine.
The only Skeeter dealer here said our boats are the only ones that have failed ,but I find it hard to believe , has any else had problems ?????

How overpowered is your boat?

Its a 2008 SX 170 rated to 115hp , with a 2009 90 hp Suzuki Fourstroke on the back , try underpowered to some...

most of the guys down there are running them with bigger motors than they do in the states

Do you mean Australia ,When you write Down There ??????
It is illegal to fitt an outboard motor of higher HP than the max HP rated by the hulls builder in Australia.
There are stiff penalties for marine dealers and boat owners and insurerance companys will wipe you, as will boat builders.
So 95 % of boats in Australia are powered to hull builders recomendations , the 5% is modified and re certified race boats and as allways the odd idiot.
