I have a 98 Skeeter ZX 195C with dual cable steering. I am going to convert to seastar hydraulic steering and the last part I need is the hydraulic hoses. what length will I need ? I am thinking either 14ft or 16 ft hoses. checked and I could not see a marking on the dual steering to see how long they are. if I got the 16ft length and they are too long, where would be a good place to coil them up ? thanks for any suggestions.

Did you try measuring the cable lenght? I have hydraulic steering you can coil the hose but make sure they do not get a kink in them. As you alreay know its better to have them a little longer than to have them too short. Soft coils= good, kinks=bad IMO.
I did try and measure the cables and my best guess would be that the current ones are 12ft. if they are 12ft don't you add another 2feet as one of them has to go all the way to the other side of the cylinder to connect unlike the dual cable steering. was hoping that maybe somebody either converted their system or had to replace the dual cable steering on a boat like mine.
