Touch pad problems...HELP
Well I picked up my 2003 ZX200 a few weeks ago. Just got it registered and titled in my name so off to the lake I went to spend the day and get to know my new ride. I cant say enough about the ride I am going to be very pleased im sure. Anyway I went all through my pumps and livewell timers and such and found that there is a problem with he touchpad. It will freeze up and not respond after being on for a while. If I go under the console and unplug the main plug it will shut off. Then I will plug in again and it will work fine for a while again. Then again after a bit it will act up again??? Does anyone know what the deal is here. I have read about others having a problem with this before..Will Skeeter do anything about it or am I SOL?? I can fix/replace just about anything how much are the parts?

Re: Touch pad problems...HELP (keithbass2609)
There was a recall.
It only applied to original owners (I believe).
If you bought the boat from a dealer, I would bring it straight back to him. They should make it right since you just bought it.
If you bought from a private party you may have an issue.
The parts aren't cheap either.

Bought from a private seller. Was worried you were gonna tell me that http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/mad.gif
Re: Touch pad problems...HELP (keithbass2609)
maybe the previous owner can look into it for you if he's the original owner and doesn't mind doing so.
I think the original owner thing is BS. It's just a way out of doing what's right....they know guys will get fed up and sell their boat if there's a problem with it....then the next guy is out of luck and isn't impressed with Skeeter. The warranty for electronic parts and such should go with the boat.....
Put it this way, I can't buy a new boat and I wouldn't want to buy a used one with those keypads...I'd buy something else.

Ill get in touch with the seller and ask him to make a phone call for me. Maybe they will just ship him to parts.

Do a search with "dash panel" and you will find a lot of info on the subject.

Well I am pretty sure that it didnt just go bad the day after the sale. The previous owner did not disclose this issue you to you when you were looking at the boat. Chances are you would have walked away knowing this problem.
