Re: 20i leaking compartments (John Hagins)
John,
I have seen similar problems with my 09 I-class and others that belonged to friends. The water is most likley getting in where the vertical metal lip meets the metel deck grid. Take some black marine silcone and run a small bead around the outside of that seem. Also check the screw holes and silicone them if you think they are causing a problem. Also make sure that your deck lids are not warped and are fitting tight. My experiance is no matter what you do the starboard side rod locker will get some water in it beacause of the gap where the daybox is. Good luck and STAY DRY! http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/USA1.gif
Re: 20i leaking compartments (Muddbugg)
Black silicone helped the problem on my ZX250. A few spots I couldnt get to.
Re: 20i leaking compartments (Neilslure)
Thanks guys. Have you tried taking off the ring and applying silicone under it??
John.
Re: 20i leaking compartments (John Hagins)
They all leak. Mr Young told me to put silicone around the boxes and my quuestion was if you know this why doesn't the factory do it. Well I got that fixed as well as the porpising and the vibration that caused the guages to not work. I also got the trailer situation about the tires fixed. I had two 20I last year and guide in Texas for a living . I live close to Skeeter . only a few miles from them. The defunk Cajun management is now running Skeeter and they managed to sell 600 less boats in 2008. All the I20's have problems and the trailers are garbage. They all leak and they don't care- By the way .I said I got the problems fixed and how I did was to sell them.

Bring your money where your mouth is and show us that it is not as we say- women talk - men put their money where their mouth is - come to texas and show us that these boats don't do as we say - if the truth is a slam so be it but to lie is a sin
Re: 20i leaking compartments (fishbill)
Are you seriously off your rocker? What am I putting money on? Why are you in every post that I have about my Skeeter. Ride that narrow boat with the locking problems that you already own and leave our rides alone. If you have an issue you can chase me down after I pass you on the lake.
I dont care if you have guided for your entire life every boat has its issues. If you cant realize that then you have obviously never had the experience of owning multiple brands.
My Skeeter is by far the best boat I have had. Miles ahead of the comanche I had in fit, finish, ride, and appearance. And it is fast. The compartments leaked like a sive in my ranger, the windshield shattered and it took them 3 tries to get me a new one, and it came undrilled, and split when i drilled by their directions. I had to change out the entire live well set up when the cable broke because ranger realized the original was crap. Oh and I had to do it on my dime.
Skeeter has at least admitted to the issues with the I boats and brought them back and fixed them. As for them all porposing you obviously dont know how to trim your boat properly. I dont want to fight and I am going to end this with this post.
If you dont like the boat, dont own it, dont talk about it, and stay out of the area specialized for the guys that love to run them. You dont see me bashing brands elsewhere, so why do you?

Re: 20i leaking compartments (coloradoman25)
Nobody ever pulled your chain - you jumpded into someone elses question with an opionon , not fact -I don't comment on other boat brands because I don't know what is going on within their busineeses- I do Skeeters I guide in South Texas and we buy two new boats a year and there are several good brands . not just Ranger. We have a new Bass Cat also but the new Skeeter boats nor their personal are what they were two years ago . again , nothihg personal to you but when you call someone a liar as you have =shut up or put some money up to compensate us for our time of proving to you that we are telling you the truth and what use to be isn't now but I wish it was.It could change if enough people complained about the box leaks, the vibrations, the porpoising and the under weight designed axles that let the tires to spread and wear unevenl and fast. Now Ez loader is having to replace the carpeted fenders on the trialers because they are tearing on the top. These are facts - I stand by them and if you aren't caught up in Skeeters down grade- good but if we can save someone the pain with the truth -we will . Some folks think that because they own a product from a company that they have a interest in thAt company- that's childs thinking - unless you own stock then you have no personal interest in any company- a fact
Re: 20i leaking compartments (fishbill)
I still dont understand what you want me to put up money for? I can see a hobo ranting on a corner for free in many cities, why should I pay for someones incessant rants that have no real basis?
