Oxymax - Oxygenator live well system
All,
i wanted to let those that have the Oxymax system in your live well ( the older version- Non self cleaning ), that I called the company to find out how to properly clean the screens. Mine has a severe case of calcium build up on them and I've scrubbed them and can't seem to get them cleaned to make the unit work again. I spoke with the owner of the company today and he's selling me the new - improved self cleaning version at a "discounted" price, plus an 8 oz bottle of U2 Pro formula fish booster. It's still not free, but thought I'd pass along that you can get a trade in on the old style if you call them and tell him you're tired of cleaning the screens or you have the same problem that I have with the calcium build up.
If you don't know what I'm talking about, it's a system that helps keep fish alive in your livewell. A must have if you fish any tournaments.

Re: Oxymax - Oxygenator live well system (jfdawson)
I'm on my second set of these and I'm beginning to really doubt how effective these really are.
This is from my experience: the oxygenator, BY ITSELF, will NOT keep fish in a full livewell alive, but the aerator pumps, by themselves, will keep fiish in a full livewell alive (and has for years, think pre-oxygenators).
I hope someone proves me wrong, as I support having as many fish supporting gadgets as possible (I got some portable oxygenators as soon as they came out). My current ones are self-cleaning by the way (2007 20i).

I suggest looking into one of the small air pump systems. They work extremely well (best I've tested so far), and are very affordable. Marine Metal Products and TH Marine have these types of systems in their product line.

Picture above was 1st day - Brand new boat. I took pictures of everything.
Today it's not so clean. I'll post pictures later of the "broken in" live well.

Just jerking your chain a little. They were definitely new, even an anal bassboater couldn't keep them that clean. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif
