Re: first skeeter, lots of questions (billybass1974)
25 Yamaha prop seems to be the best overall. I think there are some jackplate posts on this board. Mine is up about 1-3/4" measured from the top of the adjustable part of the plate to the top of the fixed part of the plate.
As for the hull issues, some 2006 20i hulls exhibited significant pospoising at mid and low rpm and also hopped in sharper turns. Mine had that problem but I have a buddy with the same boat and he didn't have the issue. My dealer contacted Skeeter and they shipped the boat back and modified the hull. Took about three or four weeks door to door. I don't know exactly what they do, but I think it is relatively minor and it fixed the issues.
You'll enjoy the boat.
Re: first skeeter, lots of questions (RiverZX)
Thanks guys. I do love the boat already, I've had it a week and the only water it's been in was coming up rt 90 on the way home. It's amazing the changes that they have made to these boats compared to the 1988 ranger that I have. I've seen a few guys have a problem with there skeeter and they thought it should have been a warr. issue and skeeter told them to pound salt. Is that something that skeeter is known for or do they take care of the people that buy there boats. Also if anyone has a guy that re-works props that is good I need to have mine cleaned up a little and maybe tuned up a little if you know what I mean. thanks and you guys have a great site here.
