skeeter question

need advice, i took my 300zx to my boat dealer to get the oil pump replaced (recall) and a switch replaced left the boat there last sat. and they called todayand told me there was another problem that i noticed before but thought i was losing voltage on the battery, anyway he called today and said that whenhe talked todarby and he said that iwas not registered with them and that i needed to pay $ 200.00 to register me as the boat owner with them (skeeter) or they wouldnt warranty the box under the console that controlled the problem that they found. does this sound right? has any body else had to do this?? any info would be deeply appreciated. thanks, steve

I'm not the expert here, but I assume you didn't buy the boat new and are the 2nd Owner? If so, I believe there is a fee of like $200 to transfer the warranty over. Maybe some of the dealers can clarify this. I know Kelly Dunham works for a dealer in Plano Texas and he knows a ton about this kind of stuff.

I do believe this is correct. The Skeeter I own now, I am the second owner and when I went to get the Yamaha YES warranty transferred into my name the dealer told me that it would cost $200 to transfer and if I remember correctly it is only transferrable 1 time. In other words, if your the second owner, your the last person that can be covered under warranty.
