2003zx200.anyone had trouble with power switch?went out fishing thursday.hit power button on dash,led lights lit up and went off.power will not stay on.dealer says dash could be bad,should this be happening on a 4yr.old boat?have no power to all electronics,livewells,bilge,etc.bought brand new,with very little use.waiting on call from dealer/they have a call in to skeeter???
There was a problem with dash panel's shorting out on some of the 04/05's. Skeeter was replacing them under warranty a while back. Ask your Dealer.
Check the main power supply fuse for corrosion and conductivity. It is a 30 amp fuse located by the battery.
Sometimes moisture can get trapped inside the fuse block and foul the soft metal of the fuse. A corroded fuse will allow some current to power up the dash shortly but when a load is applied the dash selenoid will trip off causing the dash to shut off.
Had this problem with mine, replaced main fuse and fixed problem, although it took me several hours to trouble shoot system.

Try that, I have had a similar thing happen on my Stratos and that is what fixed it.
I just had my panel on my '05 ZX 225 changed out under warranty. The older panel is all black with black buttons and the upgrade has silver buttons. I would be willing to bet that your panel is bad. My problem was exactly the same as you are describing.
Had the same problem w/ my 03' panel. Would freeze---either couldn't turn accessories on or off. Had to change panel, seems to be working correctly.
Clat, How does the silver console look? compared to the black! My console on my 04 Zx225 did the same thing and as we speak is being replaced under warr. I don't know if there putting a black or silver in, so was just wondering what your first thoughts were when you saw it?

i had the same thing happen to my 03 zx225. the ecm had went out, that's what controls were your power is directed. pretty expensive part.

You can say that again ... Several functions on my 02 ZX200 failed and I wound having to upgrade everything (dash pad / ECM / harness) to the new style ECM with the override switches on it ... Had the ECM (which is now HUGE) mounted on the wall of the right side rod locker instead of zip tied under the dash ... Good thing about all of this is no more automotive style fuses as the new ECM has circuit breakers ... Bad thing is the price which was crazy ... It cost me over 800 bucks to have it repaired and they charged me cost for the parts to boot.
The dealer of course was clueless about the whole process of getting the boat repaired and they aren't even a Skeeter dealer any more ... Surprise there. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/eyes.gif
The whole thing in this whole process that ticks me off is that Skeeter did not have any replacement spares for the boat and I was essentially forced to upgrade because of this ... I mean c'mon the boat is only 4 years old. Its bad enough Skeeter can't get me replacement graphics for my boat (Bass Master Classic Edition) and they weren't able to replace my B.A.S.S. carpet inlay after they screwed up and put the wrong color carpet in at the factory after doing a warranty replacement of the top cap (they did pay to have the carpet color screw up fixed here in NY) ... However, I'm still amazed that people call up Flippin Ark. and get exact replacement parts for their 20 year old Rangers with no problem .... KInda frustrating if you know what I mean.
Maybe a Z20 will be in my future ... Eh who knows .. I still love my Bugboat.

http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/USA1.gif my dealer called skeeter on my dash,(airport marine).The parts were ordered and delivered in 5 days.Dealer installed new dash and I really like it better than the old one.Skeeter replaced it at no charge,parts and labor.I thank skeeter and airport for their help.Skeeter is #1 in my book.2003 zx200.
My 05 ZX 250 would just shut off going across the lake. Dealer replaced the dash panel and the large breaker board under the dash plus some wiring all under warranty. Works great
