Cost of VRO for 1997 Johnson Faststrike

I googled a question about the problems I was encountering and found a link to an old post in here. The problems this guy encountered are the exact same as mine. He sent his boat in and the mechanics changed the VRO and the results were great. I'm rambling....My question is how expensive is a VRO and can I change it myself?

Yes you can change it yourself cost is about $360.00.

I have a used one that came off a 98 evinrude 150. My problem turned out to be a hose sucking air but had allready bought new vro so I put it on anyway. $100.00 shipped if you are interested.
