Re: Problem with gas gauge (kirbyv1)
My first guess would be a bad sending unit. You should be able to remove the sender yourself. The sender is nothing more than mechanical lever with a float and a variable resistor. The float lever could be stuck or the resistor is bad.

Here's a link to the Teleflex troubleshooting page. Scroll down to "Fuel System" and it should give you everything you need to test it out...

Re: Problem with gas gauge (kirbyv1)
I'm having a different kind of problem with the gas guage on my '07 SL210. It goes down way fast when running across the water! Man, does this thing fly. My second "bass" boat, first was a 16' T&S Rebel fiberglass w/90 hp Force. The 200HPDI on the SL is an awesome motor, quiet and powerful.
The wife and I are in Alabama on Lake Martin. Came down just to get the 10 hr break in on the motor, and we succeeded. Had a blast, caught a few fish, and got away from the daily grind for a few. Headed back home tomorrow.
Good luck in finding your problem. I think I know what my problem is, and there is no fix for it!! <G>
