1999 EVINRUDE 175 FICHT QUESTION ANY HELP APPRECIATED
AT IDLE THIS MOTOR RUNS FINE, BUT WHEN YOU GET IT ON PLANE AND START TRIMING THE MOTOR THE TACH TRIES TO GO UP TO ABOUT 6,500 OR 7,000 RPM BUT DOESN'T SOUND LIKE ITS OVERREVING. IT ALSO MISSES WHEN. I HAVEN'T CHANGED THE PLUGS THIS YEAR, HOW OFTEN SHOULD I CHANGE THEM.

Welcome to the BBC.
Please turn off your cap locks and Please post your model number.
Sounds like a bad tach.

On that particular motor I would change the plugs as often as you can afford. I had the same motor and would change them every six months. Make sure you identify whether you have pinned heads or not, this will determine which plugs to use, and make sure you index them properly. Go to http://www.boatsetup.com to see what Im talking about.
