1100 series Humminbirds on Aaron Martens' Phoenix
Goto to talk to A-Mart a little bit on Day 2. I snapped a few quick photos of his graphs. We al know, it's tough to find a spot for the larger 1100 Series and the HDS 10. But, Mark Plumley told me to look for Aaron's boat and check out their solution for him.
This is SICK!

Also nabbed a couple for the bow graph.

He likes them installed this way for ease of removal as well as protection going down the lakes. The console graph is now protected by the driver's wind screen. Plus it is even closer to him than side RAM mounts. It does NOT obstruct vision either.
the only drawback to the bowmount he says, is having to remove the plate across the TM recess whenever he has to swap to a spare trolling motor. BUT, having the cable underneath like this, eliminates the cable wanting to lay across some part of the graph screen.

Sick is right! Thanks for putting this up. I been running 997 for a couple of years now and am really afraid to start asking any 1198 users if the bigger screen really makes it easier to see the fish like I think it does.

The other Phoenix pros were using the conventional RAM mount method at the console.
Ben Parker and Russ lane also used the strip across the troll motor pedal recess. Ben runs a 1197, and Russ runs a 958 or 998.

My new rig's 1198 on the bow will be done similar but without the metal strip. I do not like the way the console is done, that peace of plastic they have that 1198 mounted to(unless there is reenforcement behind it) is not made to hold that kind of weight, shocks or no shocks, why mine is being mounted on the side between the shifter and console. The idea is the same tho, units can be removed easily for security reasons.
What it amounts to; if you can think of it; Phoenix will probably mount it that way for you. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/smile.gif

Guys, I failed to mention that the console mount has an aluminum plate BEHIND it for reinforcement. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif
