Re: johnson 130 (hogfandan_24)
since i cant get help with the problem maybe i can get some help from you guys on a tool i need. its a wrench thats gonna have four tits on it for the four holes in the top of the tilt cylinder. i need a location and price on the tool. the motor is a j130plee 1999 model. thanks
Re: johnson 130 (hogfandan_24)
If the tilt ram is bent it can be replaced it is costly though close to $700.00 for the ram itself you should also replace the cap or at least the cap seals. You will need a spanner wrench that you can obtain from any tool supply store. It is best to do this on the bench, You will also need a pair of snap ring pliers and a 3/4" wood dowel. Trim the motor up and engage the support bracket and trim down to take the weight off the motor. Remove the upper snap ring from one side of the upper pin and drive it out with the dowel. Run the trim down so the ram will clear the bracket, remove the lower pin the same way and remove the unit. You will need to remove the post side belly pan to pull the trim motor's cable out. Hope this helps.
Re: johnson 130 (ChampioNman)
turns out its not bent just a bad trim motor. it broke and allowed fluid into the actual motor. ordered a new motor but one of the seals is bad so im gonna replace it.
thanks
