Most likely your engine setup is off. What kind of prop are you using and what are your RPMs, and what is your prop to pad measurement. Most likely your engine is too low and you need to raise it up. Check out the Nitro setups thread stickied to the top of the Nitro page to find out what other guys are running on their Z-8s, but generally you start about 3-1/2 below the pad and move up a 1/4" at a time, until you loose speed or your water pressure gets too low. If your engine is setup is to low it will cause your boat to chine walk. You should be able to get around 75 MPH (GPS) with that boat setup properly. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif

also thats the lowest the eng will go i do not know if i am measureing right i measure from the center of the prop shaft to the ground and the bottom of the pad to the ground after i level the boat and the motor and substracted the two numbers i was told by the dealer you just have to learn how to drive through it how much speed will the boat gain if i can learn how to drive throught it i real do not like the chine walk i have seen some bad wreck on video on you tube where do i go to have the boat check out to see if it is set up right.some told me to fill the live wells on the passager side and it may help this speed is not with the livewells filled

U most likely need to raise your engine, try that first.
Re: 2011 nitro z-8 250 pro xs boat chime walks ab ... (assinbass)
You need to raise the motor a little at a time like what was said above ^and it will help a lot. Also you need to check the balance of the boat side to side. The next time you go out take a 2-4' level and lay it on the deck in front of the console(s) and put every thing where it will be when running, including you and your partner. See how level the boat sits in the water. If off then move some stuff around to get it level. See if that helps. You will never drive "through" it. You will have to learn to "drive it". http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif

X2 I think telling someone to "drive through it" is very dangerous advice.

Learning to drive a high performance boat is like when you first started to learn how to ride a bike. Your gonna wobble at first. I would suggest for you to somehow take a more experienced boat driver out with you to help you learn how to drive and counter correct the chinewalk through your steering.
It's very difficult to explain it in words but much easier to show you in while your in the boat. It will take you a couple of weeks. At first you'll think dang this is alot of work. But as you get accustomed to your new boat you will be driving it like there is no chinewalk there at all. Set up will help some but it's always been my opinion if your not walking your not getting the most out of your boat.
Here is a great article from the Triton board that gives some good tips and understanding of chinewalking..

Click on the link, about 3/4 of the way down there is a picture of how to measure your prop to pad measurement, it helps to have a 2-4 foot level and level your boat using the wheal on the front of the trailer to get a more accurate measurement. If you are really at 3" below pad try moving it down a quarter inch, but that usually does not help with chine walk. I would still go up and you just need to make sure you dont go under the recommended water pressure for you motor. You are going to have to play with the setup at the lake, bring a big socket wrench or torque wrench and the right size sockets and sharpie marker or something to mark on your jackplate where it was set at on previous runs.
Nitro boats are not known for having bad chine walk issues, when setup properly, some of the real high performance bass boats you have to learn how to drive, generally nitro is not one the boats you have to learn how to drive, they just weigh too much. Remember a little bit of chine is not a bad thing either, my boats chines a little with just me in it and low on gas, but if your boat is all over the place you most likely have a setup problem.

How long have you had the boat, are you the first owner.
