I run a 27 Fury in the winter and is the fastest prop I have at 79 MPH. When the water warms and when carrying a full tournament load I change to a 25 or 26 Fury.

I'd like to try a 27 Fury myself on my 721. Hey tn-bee---do you have hydraulic plate? If so, what size?

Damn a 27. I'm turning a 26 in 40 degree water with a very light load and I give it all I can and only get 5800-5830rpm average but sometimes 5850. Average Dailey speed 78.5-79 but I did hit 79.5 with a light 5-10 mph wind pushing me.

What size jackplate do you have---I'm pretty sure yours is hydraulic, isn't it?

I have no idea why I didn't research into a 12". I just went with 10" for no reason other than that's the normal. Not sure if it would have helped me or not but I'm very happy with the 10".

Being's your getting upper 70's I'd say yours is set right. I have a 10" manual plate, but was told by Phoenix that the 12 runs best on my 721. Jeff Hartung said it may hurt holeshot a little but should help out everything else. If I had a 10 hydraulic plate already I wouldn't have gone to 12. But since I am getting my first ever hydraulic plate, I want to try a 12".

Yea I'm completely happy with it. With lithiums and a worked prop I can probably have one of the fastest 721s out there. I have no plans for lithiums right now but I am going to get my prop worked. Right now my stock 26fury has a small cavitation hole in one blade about 1/8" round about halfway through the blade. That can't be good for it and I sent a pic to croxton. He explained to me it's a casting flaw In the prop and can be fixed. So I'll send him the prop and get it repitched to 25.5 and have him fix it up for me. Then I'll break the 80 mph mark. Where I live speed is not very important. It's very rare to fish with wind less than 5-10 mph and when it doesn't blow it's a week day. I worry more about if I can even make it back to the weigh in without breaking the boat in half more than thinking if I can touch 80 running back lol. But don't get me wrong one main reason for getting the 721 was to have the fastest bass boat on the lake. I run that thing wide open every chance I get. Plus the rough water ride I've experience so far is unreal. Hard to beat 75 mph in a good 1-2ft chop. I've had it in a stiff 4ft roller situation as well and I ran about 45-50 just slicing.
