This past weekend I went out and noticed that the tach on my 721 was reading very high, it was showing 2500 rpm at idle. How can I fix it?
Take the shroud off the console, look at the back of the tach, look at the selector to see what number it's on. Call Phoenix or the dealer to see what number it is suppose to be on.
Or take it to the dealer to have them check it out, and fix/reset it.
Assuming that is analog?

Oh ya, analog, I keep forgetting about the digital gauges. :laugh:

I love the digital of the MercMonitors....never a question what the true number is. Kind of like GPS...
My analog runs about 7k when the monitor reads 3k. Every mercury motor should have a monitor as standard equipment.
I think mine was off 300....which led me to purchase a 28.5...great top end...but too low for this Verado Pro.
This is the second time on the water for my boat and it reads really high also. I am on the 3rd hour for break in for the motor so started picking up the speed a little bit. At 50 mph it read 7k.
