Re: GPS module help... (jayfaro)
Off topic here but : Whats the story on the pin-point GPS
Re: GPS module help... (cowtrimmer)
Nothing really Jeff, I just wasnt crazy about it. Never could figure the dang thing out. I ended up getting the Lowrance LMS240 in trade so I was originally going to put it on the bow and then decided the X75 up front wasnt too bad and decided to replace the GPS instead. The Pinpoint worked ok but I had run a Lowrance for so long, I never really could figure out how to configure it.
Re: GPS module help... (jayfaro)
I mounted my puck for the GPS speedo above and to the right of the hotfoot.. Took a piece of Al. and bent a 90* bracked and screwed it down...

Re: GPS module help... (jayfaro)
Jason, the GPS head for my Lowrance is mounted under the dash down by the Hot Foot, this is where Gambler has been mounting them.

The GPS head for my Nordskog Speedo, I had it mounted in-side the dash behind the gauges, but I took it back out and mounted it up on the dash under the windshield. You can just barely see it in this pic.

I moved it back up on the dash because I was having a hard time getting a GPS lock.
I think you'll find about anywhere works because the signal will shoot right through fiberglass. However, I think you'll also find that everyone will agree, a clear shot to the sky works best and give you a little more accuracy. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/glasses.gif
Re: GPS module help... (G-Boat)
Thanks Sandy...that's strange because I had the PinPoint GPS module mounted under the dash and it would lose signal anytime I was driving over 70. Have you had any problems with signal with the Lowrance module under there? Also, does Gambler/Lowrance sell that little platform that holds the module? Thanks again Sandy and hope all is weill!
Re: GPS module help... (jayfaro)
I bought a RAM mount and put it on the rail. Worked great and it has a clear shot to the sky's.
Re: GPS module help... (jayfaro)
Jason I don't know if they sell it or not, its certainly nothing fancy, I guess you could give them a call. I would think you could find something to make a bracket from. Just an L-bracket from Home Depot or Lowe's would work and no ones going to see it under the dash any way. The one on my dash for the digital speedo I just used Velcro. Thanks for asking, all is well here Jason, hope you're surviving that bad snow winter you guys are having. Have you broken the record yet? The guy who bought my house was from Panama City, Florida. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif welcome to New England http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif
