Re: Finally got some numbers (blazeman45)
Yep you be needin a smaller wheel.....27 is too much for you..... http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
What was your W.P.?????
Prop to pad height.???

Nice numbers but more left on the table.. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
Re: Finally got some numbers (1outlaw)
Jason,
WP 15-20
Not exactly sure of prop height. Usually run plate @ 2 3/4 on hole shot and took it up to 3 1/4 tonight at WOT.
What do you think I ought to be turning???
Re: Finally got some numbers (blazeman45)
More R's for sure......You need to get that motor turning in the 5800-6000 range....
Hows the hole shot?????......
You should be getting close to the 80 MPH mark....... http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/beers.gif
Re: Finally got some numbers (ungotz)
Steve,
I think you are pretty darn close. Ben was turning a 27 tempest a few more R's but a three blade prop. Then with our worked props he was hitting 79.5. I bet you are right about there considering it is a 225 and the stock prop you are running.

Hole shot is awesome!! http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif Had to initially change plugs out. Only blows out if I don't feather the throttle coming up. Have to use tabs and bury motor... but jumps up pretty quick!!
Re: Finally got some numbers (blazeman45)
Blaze, ya got her hooked up for sure http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/beers.gif
When ya say "stay up on the wheel" Ya mean she was a little tough to drive?? If so, that will become second nature with more seat time http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/beers.gif
Might try bumping up the jackplate just a touch more next time and keep your eye on the psi !! With the 3 liter you can run to 12 psi but bring the plate back down in turns.. Louis
Re: Finally got some numbers (Largemouthlou)
Yea, steering was tough. Felt like the wheel was fighting me. Was able to feel what the boat was doing under me and had no trouble controlling the "walk". However, felt like I had no power steering!! http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/roll.gif ...if you know what I mean. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/beers.gif
Re: Finally got some numbers (ungotz)
Steve,
Not to get in a pissing contest here but.........
Unless the guys own you exact rig and set up or have spent many hours testing different props, to me it is just a guess at what you need.
Can't compare different size boats to your set up or even different manufacturers.
Also, I have said this time and time again and proved it to many....the higher you can get the motor is not always better. A bullet runs the motor high as hell and gets more speed. On the 2100 when you get that motor over a certain point, you cannot steer the boat and if you watch your GPS you are loosing speed.
So when you say about the steering, the motor is probably too high. I usually bring her back down a hair and trim the boat higher.
And you will have to do it all again soon anyway when you are running the 2100/250XS. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif
Re: Finally got some numbers (ungotz)
i gotta agree with what preston just said.
there is a lot of factors involved. you can only compare the exact same model boat with the same motor and same prop, but then you will find that each prop will run different even though its the same model.
what preston said on motor height is right on. i can tell you that when i had a 2.5 liter motor and got my best speed running 1 inch below the pad. now i have a 3 liter and run 2 inches below and if i go up 1/4 inch i lose speed. there is nearly 100 pounds difference in the 2 motors so that really changes the way the boat responds to setup.
06gambler knows your boat motor combo pretty well and can probably give u the best advice

No need for pissing matches!! http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif You are right, I hope to be doing it again soon. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/praying.gif If not, I am happy with the numbers!! I will definetly try lowering the motor to improve the steering as I don't like fighting the wheel!! http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/mad.gif I'll just keep tweaking the trim and height and see where I get. Hell, the fuel numbers almost equaled the speed numbers. It was definelty not a cheap test session and I caught no fish to boot... Go figure!!! http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif
Re: Finally got some numbers (blazeman45)
those are good speeds with a full load and full of fuel. if u keep the boat send the prop to mark and have him get you 200 more rpms and your speed will increase a little. at those speeds i would say your pretty close but maybe ben can help you get a lil more.
Re: Finally got some numbers (blazeman45)
I think you're right on the #'s considering the weight you are carrying at speed.
My stock 225 3.0l would duplicate those also 75-76 gps. But turning a 26p trophy 5800 rpm.
Play with the jack plate 1/4 in at a time. like they said you will come to a point where the rpms my increase but loose 2mph....and you cant feel 2mph by the seat of you pants...so keep an eye on the GPS.

man the 250xs is worth getting just for the savings of fuel http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/bows.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/bows.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/bows.gif its that much better
