Rusty is so good that often times he can merely run his hand over the troubled engine and humm a few words and the motor is cured and runs like new !! http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/roll.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/roll.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/roll.gif .................Roger http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/mug1.gif

Rusty the model number is J150GLE1S serial #G02956027 1991 I was told, it skips at idle or stumbles from like 750 to 500 in gear and then sometimes as I'm idling around in gear slowly it will shut quit like someone turn the key it starts right back up and runs great from every other rpm that I'ved noticed just real low in gear or idle in neutral ok thanks http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/bows.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/bows.gif

I'm waiting to hear from the Guru. hope I provided all the info you need?
First thing I would check is cylinder head temp, it should be in the 140-160 range.
Next thing to check is the throttle plates to be sure they are completely closed at idle.
Then I would look at the carb mixture at idle.
Has the motor set any length of time ?
it only sat for about a month and a half off season but the problem was there at the end of last season before it sat ok
