viper coral 202 new owner questions?
just bought a 2000 viper coral . 225 efi . nice boat. question regarding trolling motor? motor guide 67lb factory motor. first off, is it any good? second more pressing question? 24 volt . boat has only 2 batteries? how does it work? what stops it from draining all batteries and not being able to crank the motor over because both have drained? ive never seen a 24 volt system with 2 batteries before? need help quick . thank you

As long as it is working right and hasn't become loud, the Motor Guide TM is an OK item as far as TMs go, only you can decide if you like MG TMs and if a 67lb TM is enough for your style fishing. Most serious fisherpersons would probably like a stronger TM on a 20 foot boat, especially with a F&S boat where the windshield catches a lot of wind.
There is a definite danger of depleteing the starting battery with the 2 battery/24V set up. There is room for a third battery in the rear compartment, lots of Coral people have 3 back there. Someone has a picture of their 3-battery setup they posted before. You might need to shift around and remount the existing 2 batteries for more space. Some 202 Corals apparently came with 3 batteries, on board charger and charge-back system.
You'll love that boat & motor, it will really fly compared to...well, just about every other F&S out there.
And WOW....2 new Corals owners in one week!!!!! http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/beers.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/USA1.gif

had the boat on the river with 3 pass, 1/2 tank fuel 25 trophy, showed 76mph on speedo, and it can still over rev. ill gps it next summer. nice boat. shitty windshield
quality wise. other than that. exceptional built boat.

I changed out my windshield glass & plexglass pieces to totally clear ones so I could see where the heck I was going at night. I don't know what they were thinking when they made a windshield you can't look over out of tinted stuff. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/glasses.gif
I guess they thought nobody would have a fish & ski out after dark. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/doh.gif

WRE DID YOU GET THE PLEXI GLASS PIECES?
Re: viper coral 202 new owner questions? (danx123)
I had to make the plexiglass pieces myself. I had a glass company make the glass pieces for me using the tinted glass pieces as a timplates.

Here's a pic of mine, two Cabelas gel batteries, the oil tank, and the starting battery. I made the battery hold downs out of some angle iron and replaced the plywood underneath with a long board that everything is fastened to. The round gray bag is a set of mini jumper cables. They can be very handy in case of an emergency ;)

I have removed the OMC oil tank and gone to premix . I have 2 trolling
batteries and one cranking> In the middle I mounted my on board charger . next to the breakers on panel i cut to fit .
You will love this boat . Between my friends and I we have owned 4 Cajuns a Skeeter a Javelin And 3 Corals all agree the Coral is far and away the best built and best ride .
