BOUGHT NEW DRIVER CONSOLE FOR 1998 COBRA 201D

good morning to all!!!!!!
i just purchased new consoles for my 201d from hodges marine. the wiring was done by bh electronics. the console is a 1999...the cobra is a 1998. i have taken out the old console. my question is....how the $%&%^^#^&%^ do you install the new one? none the connections are even close. once i got under the dash it quickly became apparent that i couldn't wire this baby even after 6 keystone lites!!!!!!! i left a message for debbie at bh and i'm waiting for her to call me back.... i talked to tommy...owner of rockwall marine..those guys know boats....he said they would give it shot....any suggestions??? http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/doh.gif http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emhammer.gif

I am not a wiring guy, so this suggestion may be way outside possibilities. Can you take the old console and switch by switch, take the connector off the old one and put it in the place of the new one? Sounds like a pain to do, but if you are paying someone else for the pain, you get a "pain" charge for their time.

Having said that, I looked under the driver side switch panel once to wire a depth finder to the switch, pulled it up and put it right back down and wired my depth finder right to the battery.

i thought about doing exactly what you suggested.....i started from the left guage moving right...nothing is matching....the wiring harnesses are totally different... i thought about hard wiring but i'm sure after many blown fuses..i may get it right....if debbie will call me back...hopefully i can get a wiring diagram from her at bh i'm waiting on several phone calls hopefully with answers...thanks again.......
