Marks tempest does it again
So while at Kentucky lake this weekend,my buddy with the 496 and 300 yami said he wanted to try the croxton,so we pulled the t1 off stuck the Tempest on.I said go run it Ill watch from the bank.So he left me with 10 kids sitting on the sand,he said Ill be right back, he ran around the cove getting a feel for the prop, and showing off for the boys, then ran out into the main channel ,which was bad,he was gone 1/2 hour or so I thought maybe he flipped it,blew it up or who knows. So we swim waiting....So here he comes ,flying back into the big cove boat flying like a fighter jet.Drove around the cove about a dozen more times with this stupid kid in a candy store grin.He comes over and says HOLY cow thats amazing, the boat feels like it weighs 800 lbs, hole shot ,mid range and still have top end was just amazing.More like a jetski feel...So I guess we will be sending one more to Mark http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/beers.gif
Re: Marks tempest does it again (TOUCH OF CLASS)
TOC do you recall what you had Mark do to your Tempest as far as pitch and cup changes? I'm trying to find a couple old A40's or A45's to have worked on and ready http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
Re: Marks tempest does it again (bassin again)
I would say run the prop before you send it off. That way Mark will know what you're dealing with and you can provide him actuals to work off of. If you know speed, rpm, wp, trim, and jp height you'll be a lot farther along and it will save you a potential second shipment. Just my thoughts.
I'm running my 27 more based on that. When I have more info then I'll send it to Mark for him to work his magic.
Re: Marks tempest does it again (bassin again)
I dont know ,sent it to him told him the speed, rpms etc.It came back and its awsome.Ill call him and see, because he want his prop just like this one but in a 26
Re: Marks tempest does it again (TOUCH OF CLASS)
yea I planned on getting the info first.....just thinking back to the 2.5L 200 EFI and the stock 25 Tempest was perfect as far as the rpm's and speed. Just can't remember if they were A40's or A45's lol. Going to a Pro XS I'm guessing they'll need Croxtonized http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
Re: Marks tempest does it again (bassin again)
True! He might even need to add pitch. There should be a notable difference between those engines.
Re: Marks tempest does it again (bassin again)
Yes he blueprints to each boat ,now we have a base line for the Tempest, running it on different Models and motors, all the boats and motors seem to take to the croxton tempest. So this will give Mark a base line to start.
I posted a sticky to this topic, all the info is there. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif
