Trolling motor not working

Hey Guys,

Recently purchased a used 2008 boat, it has a minn-kota fortrex 82lb thrust trolling motor which was working with no problems. I was out on the water two days ago and dropped to TM in the water first thing and had no issues, when i picked the motor back up and ran for a few minutes I dropped it back in and nothing? Batteries fully charged, unit is in MOM mode but no response when I click the pedal. I got down and looked under the unit and cant see anything wrong (I don't really know what I'm looking at anyways). Any ideas on what could be wrong? My mechanic is about an hour away from here and Id hate to make a trip for something that could be an easy fix. Thanks.

First step would be to look a the breaker in the back by the batteries.

They breaker switch is positioned to "ON"

P2, there may also be a reset able breaker attached to a positive post on one of the batteries.Mine has it. Should be little red tab that can be pushed back in to reset.

So if flipped the breaker switch to "off" and then to "on" again, and its back up and running. Dang... I feel like a dummy :doh:

I had the same problem with my 2001 Ranger, but it was with the main power breaker. Turning it OFF and back ON a few times solved it, as would spraying some WD-40 down into the switch. When I got home I took the switch a part and cleaned everything and that solved the problem for several years.
