How do you remove the Lowrance unit mounted in the bow of the 05 198? There is pretty limited room to get to the rear of the unit. MY hand barely fits thru the access panel where the switches and TM plug are.

The only thing holding mine is silicone,try heating the bead and pull. Yours my be mounted differently, but I don't think so.
Yep - Only silicone in most 5" size cases installed by the factory - However the Lowrance larger models do have 4-small screws that are accessed by removing the front bezel cover... This is done by using a small flat head screw driver in two slots at the bottom of the unit - opening the memory card door and poping the cover off & over the door...

BTW - it is an X125 unit - factory installed
65 or 80 lb test braid line strung between your gloved fists will work through the RTV seal like a garote.
If you use a metal wedge type lever be aware of possibly popping some gel coat off, you have to wedge it out easy.
