prop advice

Just wondering if I couuld get some of your guys advice on a prop. I have a 2005 188 elite with a 200 yamaha, 10 inch jackplate. Right now I have a 25 pitch yamaha prop (3 blade), it does 61-63mph (gps) 5400 rpms. I would really like to be able to do high 60's and I believe its possible with the right prop. I just dont know what to get, another 3 blade or get a 4 blade and what brand to get? I believe the jack plate is at it's best height possible I have raised and lowered it and at it's current position it performs the best. Just wondering what you guys think and what direction you guys would go. Thank you very much!

You should be able to turn that 25p to 5800-6000 easy. Most champs are best around 3.5 below pad and if you can not get more than 5400 by raising your plate you may want to get your motor checked out.

I'd say a worked 25 tempest would run good on that. What color is your boat?

I run a 2005 188 Elite w/a Yamaha 200 EFI, 10"jp w/a 25 Tempest set at 3 1/2" below pad. I run in the upper 60's and on a good with just me in the boat I can touch 70. Prop to pad for that boat should be 3 1/2" to 3 3/4". You should be running in the upper 60's.
