Really bad day yesterday!!
Well, some guy in an Ford F250 "that didn't take his meds" just starts coming into on coming traffic. By the time I tried moving and looked back, all I saw was his white hood fixing to hit me. We hit head on and the dash ended up in my chest. They had to cut me out. Being traped with all the pain is a feeling I'll never forget!
All in all, I didn't come out of it to bad. The fact that I was in my F150 saved my life. Took them a while to get me out. My left knee was tangled in my dash and I had no idea where my right foot was. I ended up with a completly smashed up right foot and ankle. Have surgery on it Wed. and hair line brakes in my left foot. All other stuff is minor. Cuts and bruses. I'm home now with both legs in some kind of case and boots. They have to let the swelling go down until they do anything with either of them. I'm hating that I can't move much and my family has to do everything for me. Anyway, looks like the boat will stay parked for a while now. I also feel so bad because we were leaving for a week vacation this morning. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/crying.gif My kids were so looking forward to it. Well now it also looks like a new truck is coming my way, although I would rather had keeped my old one for this not to have happened.
Anyway, all is well now, I'm just laying here messed up and hoping everything heals up correct and soon.

WOW!!!!!!!
So sorry but it looks like much to be thankful for!
Re: Really bad day yesterday!! (mha)
There is! I don't know how I came out of that without a lot more wrong with me.
Re: Really bad day yesterday!! (LAChamp)
YIKES...
Sorry about the misfortune.... man that looks brutal. Glad you are still with us, and nothing worse happened to you.
Re: Really bad day yesterday!! (LAChamp)
Good to hear your "OK". That looks like a life threatening accident there. Your F-150 did it's job ! Once I got myself driving trucks, I'll never own a car again. The few times I have to ride in a car with someone, I feel scared to death. Hope your recovery goes well and quick. It does kinda suck having someone to do everything for ya - but it will not last. I'm sure the kids love taking care of dad - a little role reversal for a while anyway. Good luck with the surgery http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/praying.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/praying.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/praying.gif all goes well.

Kim replacing a truck is easy ? Replacing you in your family is not.
Thank god your OK and thanks to Ford Motor Companys safety cell technology.
Fords crash model is based upon a euro design while most others are 1 offs. Ford chose the model used for a reason. Your pictures prove that again.
Re: Really bad day yesterday!! (LAChamp)
Wow, Kim!!! Sorry about your feet and legs, but sure glad you are going to be OK!!! That crash is scary looking!! Wonder if the guy was drinking or what!!!
Re: Really bad day yesterday!! (Lea)
Thanks everyone. Lea, he was not drunk. Right before this happened, he was at a store acting very crazy. Asking people crazy things. The owners called the police and when they got there, he was already gone. Shortly after leaving that store he turned his truck into mine. Something to do with he had not taken his medication and he was not thinking streight. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/doh.gif

Re: Really bad day yesterday!! (LAChamp)
I guess the bright spot is he didn't kill anyone. Makes ya wonder what kind of meds he was supposed to be on....

Shazaam!! Glad you are OK! Holidays make people crazy! I almost go clocked today in the right rear quarter panel of my Cherokee, I just caught this guy pulling out of a parking lot and swerved into the middle suicide lane (turning) glad it was there. The guy driving was looking to his right and never even saw me on his left side. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/doh.gif

Re: Really bad day yesterday!! (foxman623)
Thank for all the comments and prays everyone. I find out today that the front tow hook of that guys F250 had my right foot pinned down and that the front of his truck was inside my cab. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/eek.gif The paramedic that helped me said that he's been to a lot of wrecks and that I need to get my butt to church and say a prayer because he doesn't understand how I didn't have more wrong with me. I guess I'm doing something right for the man upstairs. And of coures I will be getting another Ford that has that build in cage around the cab.
Re: Really bad day yesterday!! (LAChamp)
Iam glad to hear that you are ok neighbor. Just take care of yourself and I know how it feels not being mobile. Accidents do happen and you managed to live to tell about it, be very thankful. Hurry up and get well. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif
Re: Really bad day yesterday!! (LAChamp)
Kim, you are a very lucky man. I lost 2 friends a few years back in an accident very very similiar. If you don't believe in divine intervention, you may want to start thinking about it.
As stated above, cars, trucks, and boats are ALL replaceable. Family members, in particular, Fathers are not.
I'm so happy that your safe and as someone who has multiple screws and plates in his feet and ankles, you should recover just fine.
Get well soon. if you have any questions on injured feet, ankles and knees, as stated, I have more hardware in me than some hardware stores, so I think I can answer those. Just hit me on my email.
