Light Waves from Wind -- Small Lake -- Newbie
Ok I had my new to me 2000 Champion 190SX out last saturday..
I am a newbie
The lake that my parents are on is only 515 square acres so I am sure it wasn't that rough, but it was very windy!!
Tham champion felt great over the waves. Even my friend that owns Stratos 386XF was like wow this thing is smoother than mine and even though his is built for larger water.
When turning (well more like going in large circle counter clockwise) the waves would hit the front of the boat just right where I would get a nice amount of splash. I would say get soaked, but it was a nice amount.. The manual for my motor says to trim down/in for rough water..
I was thinking, maybe I should have kept it trimmed out/up a little to keep the bow of the boat higher?
Sorry if I am asking stupid questions..

Out on Eagle L last Sat? Did you launch at the county or eagle lake ramp? The county ramp sucks they need to dredge the mouth.

Yeah Eagle Lake
At the county park.
The markers were taken out for the season so that made it even more fun!
I couldn't believe how far to shore on the right side going out I had to stay in order to not get stuck. I could touch the land.. I start to go down the middle, but then I was like holy crap, there is no water! A helpful Sheriff told me to really hug the land. They really are decent Officers in Racine Co. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/USA1.gif
I actually pulled someone off the mud and back to the dock.. Stuck and Dead.. We got em out though http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif
An old guy at the pier told me that last winter they dumped concrete there for the walleye. He said it wasn't safe to go any further on the ice so the trucker had to dump his load and get the hell out of there.. Not sure how true that is..

Might be true, went out in front of the point to the right heading in too early in April and rubbed gravel. Yeah no joke on hugging the right heading out.
