Are the new weight specs to be believed?
I just saw where the new weight specs for the Stratos -Champion Elite 210 for the year 2011 are 1525 lbs. It says that it includes everything , motor ,etc. The 2010 models weight was listed as 2100 lbs. If this is true that is 575 lbs. less. The ride sure can't be the same . They have the new 2011's 202 weght listed at 1475 lbs, 25 lbs less than the 210 for the coming year 2011.They should take the Champion name off them if this is true. I found this on the new web site they have up for Stratos Champion.
Re: Are the new weight specs to be believed? (earl)
Sounds light to me. But, if it is true why take the Champion name off of it? Weight doest not make a boat ride better or worse. Allison and Strokers are some of the best riding boats out there and they don't weigh squat. It's all in the hull design.
Re: Are the new weight specs to be believed? (H2O_Fowl)
that would mean the 210 hull without a motor is 1000lbs....no way!
Re: Are the new weight specs to be believed? (earl)
575 lighter than last year? That is about what a 250hp outboard weighs so i say misprint or mis information. Maybe without the outboard it would way 1500 maybe.
Re: Are the new weight specs to be believed? (earl)
Who buys a Champ, Stratos, strampion, to be the fastest anyway? 25 pounds can be cut a number of different ways, ex is the spare tire now optional? Go fishin.
Re: Are the new weight specs to be believed? (earl)
I just talked to Jason Bragg at Stratos and it is a misprint about the weight . It stayed the same as last year he said.
Re: Are the new weight specs to be believed? (earl)
Jason knows our boats!!! Those last years weights were hull weights, not incl motor, tmotor, etc..

Misprint? They can't get that right?

I can find a misprint on just about anything out there. This is not some ploy from upper management to handicap the Champion....errr....Stratos boats. It's pretty sad that people get paid to edit and proof read, but still miss things I catch the first time I look at things. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/ohwell.gif
