Re: 99 203 DCX ELITE (TCS)
Psi is a bit high. What motor?
Re: 99 203 DCX ELITE (BILLY)
GOOD CALL FORGOT TO THAT IN THERE, IT IS A 225 MERC.
Re: 99 203 DCX ELITE (TCS)
I HAVE ALSO TRIED A TEMPEST 3 BLADE 25P BUT THE BOAT BARELY GETS OUT OF THE HOLE ALTHOUGH I DO GET ANOTHER 2-3 MPH. I DID NOTICE WITH THE 4 BLADE THE HIGHER I TRIM IT THE LOWER MY WATER PRESSURE. WITH THE 3 BLADE THE HIGHER I TRIM IT THE WATER PRESSURE INCREASES.

Welcome to the forum!!! Glad you joined us, but PLEASE turn off your caps...it is considered shouting on line...
Prop to pad measurement...
Put trailer on level surface and then using, carpenter's level and the trailer jack, level the trailer. Lower motor till cavitation plate is level. Measure from lowest part of pad to ground. Measure from point of nose cone to ground. The difference between the 2 measurements is prop to pad. On Champs, the starting point is 3.5". Move up or down in 1/4" increments to find sweet spot.

Re: 99 203 DCX ELITE (BILLY)
Don't think your motor is pumping out 1175 PSI of water. If you are getting 52 MPH @ 5500 RPM something is terribly amiss.
Re: 99 203 DCX ELITE (ChampioNman)
Sorry lea, im just a lazy typer and thanks for the measuring info... As far as the water psi I think its 117.5, I cant tell according to the printout i recieved.

Is that water pressure or are you looking at water temp? A normal water pressure with your motor should be like 12 PSI
Re: 99 203 DCX ELITE (TCS)
I'm with Bob....no way your water pressure is that high. Something is wacky here.... It should be from teens to maybe high 20s, but certainly not in the hundreds...
Do you have a water pressure gauge? You refer to a "printout"??????? What is that???
Re: 99 203 DCX ELITE (Lea)
Im refering to my dyno sheet. If it is in the teens then the number has to be 11.75psi. When im in the boat it reads 12-13. I thought both those numbers seemed high, thanks for the clarification.
Re: 99 203 DCX ELITE (TCS)
Yes something is amiss. I have the same year boat and motor with a fixed plate. (6") You should at least see 67 to 68 at 5500 RPM. 52 is cruising speed with that rig.
Re: 99 203 DCX ELITE (jerzia)
I think the motor is very sick. You shouldn't have any trouble jumping out of the hole with a 25 Tempest and you said it was a dog. Unless you are running at some high elevation I would have your motor serviced something is amiss.
It wouldn't matter if you had the motor 7 inches below pad it should still pop up on pad with a 25 Tempest.
Good Luck,
Don<><
Re: 99 203 DCX ELITE (Champ203)
My best friends 1998 203 with 10' jack runs a 25 Tempest Plus @ 5650
rpm 73mph 12 psi. we mset the heighth at 3inches but she ram best with
the heighth lower. four blade will slow a 203 down,,,,my 250 sux with a trophy 26''
Tempest plus 25 and 203 are a good mix. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/USA1.gif
