2010 198CX Livewell ??????

My friend has a new Champion 2010 198CX.... We fished a draw tournament this weekend and he had a problem.... He and his partner's fish actually got from one livewell to the other... It appears it either went over the stainless divider or through the crack in the side near the over flow... To make matters worse he had the larger fish but when he was measuring the fish his jump off the deck of the boat and he ended up losing a fish back in the lake!!!!! LOL!!! He was more than a little pissed!!! hehehehe.... any way has anyone had trouble with this and is there an easy fix for this problem... Thanks in advance!!!!!

I have had the same thing happen in my 2006 198. Most recently at a tournament last month. It was a 15 inch fish and I think it went over the top. We had an issue since my partner had 3 keepers. I took the smallest fish to keep the piece. I think I am going to start putting culling tags on all my fish. I suppose they could still get over into the other livewell but at least they would be tagged. This was the first time since I bought the boat new that it has happened.

Well gents you made me check my 183CX (No issues) as mine has only one inch of clearance on the top.

Now back to the issue:

A boat I use to own had the same problem your having, what I did on that boat was:

Bought a piece of pipe insulation and slid it over the divider, thus closing up the gap and away went the problem.
