i went out this week to run my 225 vindicator. it started fine, ran good until i opened it up. my buzzer went off with a steady sound. i think its telling me that it is overheating. when i bring it down to an idle and wait a minute, it will go off and i can run it again. it will do the same thing again when i open it up after about a 1 minute of running. any help will be appreciated. water pressure is coming up around 17 lbs.
17 lbs is too low we all tell everyone no repeat NO less than 18 lbs better at 20 lbs . shows your jacked too high and water is not cooling especially since you back down and the buzzer goes off which means more water is being ingested by the engine
that sounds like a fuel restriction alarm, usually caused by a plugged boat filter, kinked gas line, malfunctioning anti-siphon valve, clogged pickup screen, etc.
IF it was an overheat alarm, the motor would have instantly gone into the SLOW mode by reducing rpm to about 2500.
Beat me to it, if it came on over 5000 RPM with out slowing to SLOW then fuel restriction. Like SH sez check your fuel lines.
i took out my boat again today i don't think it is fuel. this little problem will start around above 5000 rpms. the motor will slow down and if i gas it, it will act like it is missing. the alarm will come on for a minute then shut off. the only way it will clear up is if i shut the motor off then start it back up. the only time it misses is shortly after the alarm goes off and until i shut off the engine and restart it.
is there a way i can test the over heat sensor and where is it at?
